A Rhode Island nonprofit is getting a huge donation to help in its fight against malnutrition worldwide.
North Kingstown-based Edesia announced on Friday it's receiving a 137-million-dollar donation from the Bezos Family, the parents of billionaire Amazon founder Jeff Bezos. Edesia has been working for years with organizations including UNICEF and USAID.
The company makes nutrient-packed foods, including its best-known PlumpyNut, to fight childhood malnutrition in 60 countries, mainly in sub-Saharan Africa, the Middle East, and Latin America.
