Sisters Arraigned In Seekonk Abuse Case

The mother and aunt of a child who suffered serious burns last month are facing child abuse charges.

The four-year-old was hospitalized on October 9th, when first responders found her suffering from second and third-degree burns.

The child was taken to Hasbro Children's Hospital and is still recovering.

Police arrested her mother, 38-year-old Guilene Gerome, and the woman's sister, 44-year-old Franzceska Gerome. Investigators found evidence the child had been scalded with boiling liquid.

Guilene Gerome will be held on 25-thousand-dollar bail and must surrender her passport and her sister is behind bars without bail.
