State Covid Emergency Extended Temporarily

Governor Dan McKee has extended the COVID emergency in Rhode Island for less than another week.

It was due to expire Friday but was extended to next Thursday to coincide with the end of the federal emergency.

It was first enacted by former Governor Gina Raimondo on March 9th, 2020, at the beginning of the pandemic.

The World Health Organization downgraded COVID declaring it is no longer a global emergency.
