City Man Sentenced On Drug And Gun Charges

A Providence man is being sentenced to four years in federal prison.

The Justice Department says Joaquin Fabian pleaded guilty to possession of a firearm by a prohibited person and charges of possessing cocaine and marijuana with intent to distribute.

Authorities determined Fabian regularly drove to Southeastern Massachusetts to conduct drug-trafficking business.

He was arrested in April 2021 when he posted a photo on social media of a handgun positioned between his legs while he was seated in a motor vehicle.

The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives arrested Fabian upon his return to Providence.
