Red Sox- Yankees Thursday Game Postponed Due to COVID

(Bronx, NY) -- The Yankees game at Yankee Stadium against the Red Sox was canceled for Thursday night. The move comes after COVID-19 tests came back positive within the organization. Earlier in the day, pitchers Nestor Cortes and Wandy Peralta were placed on the COVID-19 injured list. The team had also canceled earlier batting practice due to COVID concerns.

James Wagner of the New York Times reports... General Manager Brian Cashman confirmed the three players were Nestor Cortes Jr., Wandy Peralta and Jonathan Loaisiga and three additional individuals tested positive with rapid tests but are awaiting a confirmation, Wagner reports.

Other media reports, including ESPN, say that Aaron Judge and two other players have been placed in the COVID-19 protocol, which is raising concerns because Judge took part in the MLB All-Star game earlier in the week and was exposed to players from around the major leagues.
