Trump Says He Doesn't See Any Racial Tension In The US

President Trump argues that there is "no racial tension" in the United States and that he has "fantastic relationships with the African-American community." He made the remarks – perhaps ironically – as he again attacked four minority Democrats.

Talking at the White House yesterday, Trump said the congresswomen – Reps.Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Ilhan Omar, Rashida Tlaib and Ayanna Pressley– are very bad for the U.S. and must hate the country. “I think they’re very bad for the Democrat Party… they’re pulling the Democrats way left,” he noted. “Nobody knows how to handle them. I feel they’re easy to handle. To me they’re easy to handle because they’re just out there.”

As for how such rhetoric will play with minorities in the 2020 election, Trump isn’t worried saying, “You'll see that in 2020.” As part of that positioning, Trump has also called the women out by their popular moniker, “The Squad,” on Twitter. “The “Squad” is a very Racist group of troublemakers who are young, inexperienced, and not very smart,” he writes “They are pulling the once great Democrat Party far left, and were against humanitarian aid at the Border...And are now against ICE and Homeland Security. So bad for our Country!”
