Hotline Launched To Help Teens Quit Vaping

There's a new hotline available for teens who want to quit the habit of vaping.

National Jewish Health has one of the largest tobacco-cessation programs in the nation called "My Life, My Quit." As part of that, they've launched a first-of-its-kind "quit-line" focused on youthvaping. So far, it’s available in nine states: Colorado, Massachusetts, Michigan, Montana, North Dakota, Nevada, Ohio, Pennsylvania and Utah.

Dr.Thomas Ylioja, the associate clinical director of health initiatives at National Jewish Health, says the program helps teens cope with stress, get through high-pressure social situations and develop a tobacco-free identity for the rest of their lives.

  • Those interested can call or text the helpline at 1-855-891-9989 or go online to MyLifeMyQuit.com.
  • Not in one of the nine states? There are other cessation aids for young people, such as text message programs from Truth Initiative and Smokefree Teen, a program by the National Cancer Institute.
