Foreclosed Home Fixer-Upper Who Defrauded Investors Reaches Plea Deal

(Providence, RI)--Prosecutors are reaching a plea agreement with an East Greenwich woman who is accused of defrauding investors for more than four-and-a-half-million dollars.Court documents indicate Monique Brady agreed yesterday to plead guilty to charges including wire fraud.The U.S. Justice Department says Brady was a businesswoman who specialized in preserving foreclosed homes for re-sale and said she needed to raise money for various repair projects.Brady's case drew additional attention when a federal judge ordered her held after she was accused of trying to flee persecution by getting a one-way flight to Vietnam.
