Leaders React To Senate Committee Transfer Of Abortion Rights Bill

(Providence, RI)--The Senate Health and Human Services Committee is scheduled tonight to vote on the controversial Reproductive Privacy Act, which codifies the protections of Roe v. Wade into law.Ahead of the vote, the state Republican Party is accusing Senate Judiciary Committee chair Erin Lynch Prata of committing a rules violation by moving the bill out of that committee.The GOP says it wasn't until Senate Republican leaders showed up for an ex-officio vote on Tuesday that the move was made.Senate President Dominick Ruggerio said a last-minute political stunt to torpedo the bill was attempted.
