Another Mid-Year Budget Deficit Reported

(Providence, RI)  --  The state of Rhode Island is dealing with a 42-million-dollar budget deficit for the 2018-2019 fiscal year.  That's according to information released last week by state budget officer Tom Mullaney, based on actual spending from July to September and last week's updated projections.  Mullaney says much of the deficit is attributed to over-spending by state agencies.  Rhode Island also faced a mid-year deficit last year.
