Alleged Providence Gang Members Indicted Under RICO Act

(Providence, RI)  --  Six alleged street gang members and associates in Providence are facing a federal indictment.  The U.S. Justice Department says the men are alleged to be associated with a criminal enterprise known as the Chad Brown Gang and have been charged with violating the Racketeer Influenced Criminal Organization Act, or RICO.  Prosecutors allege the suspects engaged in attempted murders, felony assaults, drug trafficking and other crimes.  Four of them are accused of committing multiple drive-by shootings in Providence in retaliation for assaults, shootings and murders of Chad Brown members or associates or other ally gangs.
