(Wrentham, MA) -- Although the trainer implicated in the death of former New England Patriots player Jerod Mayo's dog is not facing animal cruelty charges, she's not off the hook entirely. The Wrentham, Massachusetts Police Department said on Thursday it is filing three counts of obstruction of justice against Amelia Ferreira, alleging she misled police during an investigation. Ferreira allegedly told officers originally that Knox, an English bulldog, escaped, but later admitted that the dog died in her care, and the dead dog was found inside her Cranston home. The Cranston Police Department said on Wednesday that a necropsy performed on the animal was inconclusive.
